Irrigation Blow Out

If you own an underground irrigation system, you will need to have it winterized.  If you have it done too soon, your lawn can dry out, and if you wait too long, your pipes can freeze.  The best time to have sprinkler winterization service performed is in October.

There are many phrases you will find for the process of winterizing your irrigation system.  Here are some examples listed below:

  • Sprinkler system blow out service
  • Blowing out irrigation system
  • Winterizing my sprinkler system
  • Lawn sprinkler blow out
  • Winterization lawn irrigation system
  • Blowing out sprinkler lines
  • Lawn sprinkler winterization

No matter which phrase you use, this process is a necessity and needs to be done every year to protect your irrigation system from freezing.  Only a professional with extensive experience should be performing your irrigation winterization service.  Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. has over 30 years of experience and will use high pressure air compressors to “blow out” your sprinkler system.  We will make sure all water is removed from the pipes and will prepare your system for the winter.  Protect your investment by contacting us today to schedule your sprinkler winterization appointment.

Winterizing Underground Sprinkler Systems

At the end of the lawn watering season, your irrigation system will need to be “blown out” and winterized by a professional. This process is necessary to make sure all water is removed from the irrigation lines to avoid freezing.  If winterization to your irrigation system is not done properly, water will remain in the lines and in other components.  If this happens, the pipes can burst and cause extensive damage to the whole system, which can be very costly to you, the homeowner.

Before arriving, our trained technicians will provide you instructions onhow to turn off the water supply to the irrigation system.  This process will prepare your sprinkler system for winterization.  Once we are on your property, we will use an air compressor to blow out your irrigation system, one zone at a time.

Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. is now scheduling appointments for sprinkler winterization service. Contact us today to receive a quote for blowing out your sprinkler lines.

Illumnating Your Beach House

Living on the coast definitely has its perks.  The welcoming sea breezes, the fresh salty air, and listening to the waves crash, are just a few reasons why so many people reside at the ocean.  Outdoor lighting will allow you to spend even more time outdoors, even after that beautiful sun sets.

The salty ocean air can be harsh on your home’s exterior, including your LED outdoor lighting.  For that reason, Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. uses Coastal Source landscape lighting.  Specifically designed with coastal living in mind, their fixtures are made from 100% brass and will never rust or corrode, even when exposed to salt water spray.

Enjoy outside lighting at it’s best by adding the following fixtures to your property:

  • Niche light: Small and mighty, this fixture is less than an inch thick and works perfectly in any outdoor shower stall, ensuring you will never miss a spot again!
  • Tiki torch: Placing several of these fixtures around your yard will make your home stand out and easier to find after your nightly walk on the beach.
  • Path light: Spacing these fixtures every 8-10 feet along your pathway creates a well-lit and safe way to come back and forth from the beach.

When it comes to illuminating your beach house with premium outdoor lighting, the sky is the limit.  Let Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. help you create your very own outdoor paradise.  For more information, please visit our website at www.r-rlandscaping.com

Premium Outdoor Lighting Transformers

Have you ever thought about how your outdoor lighting is powered?  Once Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. installs your Coastal Source landscape lighting, we will then connect it to a transformer.  There are 4 different types of transformers that we can use with your premium outdoor lighting project.  After we conduct the initial walk around your property, our technician will then determine which transformer will work best.

When choosing a transformer there are different things Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. will keep in mind. For example, how many fixtures will we be installing (wattage), will the transformer be above or below the ground, and will the client want to control the time of day the fixtures will be on and off.

After we complete the above tasks, we will then choose from one of the following transformers:

  • 150W Composite:  Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. will use this transformer with smaller outdoor lighting projects (up to 25 3W fixtures).  It comes with a built-in photocell and manual timer, which will allow you to control all of your lighting needs.
  • Direct burial:  Available in 150W or 300W, we will be burying the transformer below the ground, and it will remain completely out of sight.  If you want to control when your lights will be on/off, you will need to purchase a timer or photocell separately.
  • Anodized aluminum: This 300W transformer is heavy-duty and does not require maintenance due to the fact that all of the connections are enclosed and protected in epoxy.  They are tough and built to last.  They come with a built-in photocell and a timer would need to be purchased separately if you desire that feature.
  • Hatch 60W:  We will use this transformer only when we install a security tri-mount fixture.  It is specifically made to supply power to the two outdoor lighting fixtures and a non-Coastal Source timer.

Greatscapes by R&R Landscaping, Inc. has an experienced luxury outdoor lighting team, and they will make sure the correct transformer is chosen for your project.  Please visit our website at www.r-rlandscaping.com for more information.
